The University’s online and quazi traditional university programs follow an open curriculum instead of a well defined COURSE LIST.
The student and academic department set forth a path uniquely tailored to the needs, interests, opportunities, and real world demands that surround each student.
The Virtual Campus and MY University platform bring online learners closer to the university than ever before. Language and Management University offers degree programs, professional programs and certification courses for youth and adult learners at the bachelor’s, Professional Diplomas, executive diplomas, post graduate diplomas, master’s, doctorate, and post-doctoral levels in a wide range of majors and areas of study focused on Language and Management specifics.
All degree programs are designed for professional youths and adults. After evaluating both academic records and Life Experience, The university staff working in conjunction with Faculty and Academic Advisors, establishes the student’s Academic Status.
The student’s Academic Status defines the number of Credit Hours the student must complete to fulfill the academic guidelines of the institution.
Course & Curriculum
Language and Management University of Campinas has developed a protocol to quantify and qualify an individual’s professional background, as well as, their academic credentials, and grant academic credit to qualified students commensurate with their true level of knowledge.
Although University’s criteria for granting a particular degree is generally the same as the broad majority of institutions, our practice of granting academic credit for “Life Experience” is just recently gaining acceptance in the academic community.
Development of Course & Curricula
At Language and Management University of Campinas, the development of course and curricula is a collaborative activity, conducted between the University and professionals, professors, researchers and student with the Academic Advisor.
Each student’s curricula is unique, and developed as a result of the mutual efforts of the student, the academic staff and the academic advisor.
The supervising dean of academic advisors holds a doctorate degree in Human Resource Management with specialty in Manpower development.
The student’s academic advisor works directly with the supervising dean in establishing the student’s curriculum (See Available Programs).
Review & Evaluation for Admission
After initial review and evaluation of the student’s academic and life/professional background, by the Academic Committee, the student’s academic status is defined.
This definition establishes the approximate number of academic credit hours the university will grant the student toward the student’s designated degree program. The student academic status is subject to change based upon the results of the student’s course and curriculum research (C&C), which is the objective of one of the required orientation courses.
The student will select courses based upon the student’s need to acquire the knowledge and master the objectives defined, in the course descriptions and objectives, as itemized in the course catalogs of such approved institutions.
The student will be the initial arbiter of the courses selected. The student will compile a list of such subjects, sufficient to fulfill the credit hour requirement, as defined in the student’s academic status report above.
The culmination of the C&C research course is the class session with the academic advisor. During this class, the student’s courses and curricula will be established, and approved.
Course Modification
In the event the Student discovers, while conducting C&C research a need for additional courses above the number defined by the Academic Committee in the student academic status report, the student will inform the academic advisor and the additional courses will be included in the student’s curriculum.
Conversely, should the student fail to discover a sufficient number of courses to fulfill the number defined above, (in effect, the Student’s level of knowledge includes all, or most, of the course objectives, of the courses generally required for the degree program), the student will select courses, sufficient to fulfill the number defined, and be permitted to challenge these courses. In this event, the challenged courses will appear on the student’s official transcript, with the grade earned in the challenge.
By employing this paradigm, we facilitates the development of curricula uniquely matched to each student, and designed to accomplish the achievement of the designated degree in a most efficient and effective manner.
Most of our available courses are tailored and structured per weekly for the learning convenience of our students.

Mission & Vision
Science has yet to discover the precise mechanism by which the individual learns.
Balance is the key to many things ranging from health to the environment. To be part of your life, Education must fit within that balance and WE makes it possible by taking into account the most important things that affect your education.
MISSION
To be a higher learning institution concerned about generating cultural development alternatives likely to be sustained in order to lead to a more efficient administration of the world village and its environment; exerting human and community rights through diversity with the ultimate goal of the satisfaction and evolution of the world.
VISION
The empowerment of the individual towards the convergence of the world through a sustainable educational design based on andragogy and omniology.
General Information
Science has yet to discover the precise mechanism by which the individual learns. However, it is acknowledged that the act of learning is endogenous, (from within), rather than exogenous. This fact is the underlying rationale for “Distance Learning” in general, and all of the degree programs offered by the University.
The UNIBRAZ Difference (OUR DIFFERENCE)
The combination of the underlying principles of student “self instruction”, (with guidance), collaborative development of unique curriculum, and flexibility of time and place of study, provides, what we consider to be, the ideal learning environment. It is created with the purpose of satisfying individual needs and providing personal development for each student. University of Brazil exists as an institution of experiential learning and nontraditional education at a distance. There are no classrooms and attendance is not required.
UNIBRAZ Service
Our Primary goal at University of Brazil Campinas is to accommodate adult students by meeting their individual needs. For this reason, our degree programs are flexible and have been designed for accelerated completion.
Our programs encourage students to demonstrate competency through independent learning, reading and research in their field of study. UNIBRAZ offers educational opportunities to adults from around the world so that they can better themselves using their own potential to manage their personal, global cultural development. This is actualized through the evaluation of their credentials towards a Professional Executive Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s, a Master’s and/or a Doctorate degree, and this also implies a capability for sustainable results-based performance. The foundational axis of such a philosophy lies upon self-actualized knowledge and information, with no room for obsoleteness, which is embedded into a distance learning system based on ANDRAGOGY and OMNIOLOGY. The ultimate goal of this paradigm is to empower learners and help them take advantage of the enormous array of resources from the world environment in order to eliminate the current continuum of poverty and limitations. To this end, depending on the circumstances, students are able to convert their past into a self-propelled growth module constantly on the move, away from the accredited, traditional systems that foster limitations and caducity. This will become a crude reality with respect for, and practice of, human and community rights through experiences, investigations, practicum work, and/or examinations, according to an independent student’s individual idiosyncrasy at UNIBRAZ. Everything takes place in a setting that fosters diversity with more than 10 Million full texts and about 47 million bibliographic references, and consultants with doctorate degrees and specializations in Human Development monitor learning processes; in addition to a worldwide web of colleagues and associations in different academic areas; so that they can reach together the satisfaction and the progress of humanity with peace and harmony.

Grading System and Grade Point Average
Explanation of Grades
For graduate level courses, the grades of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, and C are passing grades, and C-, D+, D, D-, and F are failing grades. For undergraduate level courses, the grades of A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, C, C-, D+, D, and D- are passing grades, and F is failing grade. The grade of S is a passing grade and the grade of U is a failing grade for Certificate courses. The grade of “I” (Incomplete) is given to a student whose work has been of passing quality but who has, for compelling reasons, been unable to complete all of his or her required coursework by the end of the period. The quality of performance in any academic course is reported by a letter grade. These grades denote the character of work and are assigned grade points as follows:
Percentage | Letter Grade | Grade Points | CGPA | Academic Standing |
94.00-100.00 | A | 4.00 | 4.00 | |

Cumulative GPA (CGPA): Is defined as the overall GPA attained so far in an ongoing education period.
The GPA is determined by dividing the total number of grade points earned in courses by the total number of credits attempted. The GPA is carried out to three digits past the decimal point (example 1.000). No rounding up or down shall be done to arrive at the GPA. When a course is repeated, only the highest grade earned is counted in the computation of the GPA and the CGPA for graduation.

Credits influence your GPA;

-
What is a contact hour?
A contact hour includes any lecture or lab time when the professor is teaching the student, and they usually equal 50 minutes in real time.
-
What’s the difference between contact hours and credit hours?
In universities and colleges in the United States, students usually receive credit hours based on the number of “contact hours” they spend studying per week in class.
-
What is a semester credit hour?
A semester credit hour (SCH) is the amount of credit a student earns for successful completion of one contact hour and two preparation hours per week for a semester. One semester credit hour equals 15-16 contact hours per semester, regardless of the duration of the course.
Basically, for a one semester credit hour course, you should invest one contact hour in class and two additional preparation hours each week that take place out-of-class. These can represent homework, fieldwork or practical courses.
-
How many credits does a course have?
Most colleges and universities award 3 Semester Credit Hours (SCH) (45-48 contact hours) for the successful completion of a study course. The number of credits for lectures, independent project work, laboratory time and internships vary depending on specific institution requirements
-
What is the relationship between degree courses and credit hours?
A course is measured in the number of credit hours needed to complete it. For an undergraduate degree, basic courses may have 1 credit or 2 credits. In a Master’s degree, including for MBAs, most courses are either 3 or 4 credits.
A standard full-time study load is usually 30 credit hours per year. Typically, in order to graduate with a degree, universities expect students to complete:
120-140 credit hours for a Bachelor’s degree
30-64 credit hours for a Master’s degree
Some universities use Semester Credit Hours to set tuition fees and scholarships for prospective students. During a semester, an international student has to take between 9 and 12 credit hours, depending on each college or university.
-
What are Quarter Credits?
Some universities in the United States use Quarter Calendar Credit Hours, where, the academic year is divided into three terms. In this case, a Bachelor’s degree usually requires a minimum of 180 quarter hours to complete instead of 120.
Semester credit hours and GPA
In the U.S., credits are also used to determine a student’s Grade Point Average (GPA) for a semester or academic year. In some cases, GPA scores are required for admission to advanced study programs in the U.S. (most typically for MBA programs). GPA scores range from 0.0 to 4.0. A score of 4.0 is the equivalent of an A average, while 0.0 represents an F score. Each American Bachelor’s and Master’s program specifies their own minimum GPA requirement for graduation.
The semester GPA of a student is calculated based on the final marks received for each course and the credit hours awarded by the program for that semester. The final overall GPA is the average of all courses completed during the years of study.
